Example of New Technology negative impact on sustainability?
What is an example of new technology having a negative impact on sustainability?
An example of new technology having a negative impact on sustainability is more use of our daily life electric devices like, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables. When we use these electric devices it does not produce any emissions but to manufacture all parts it takes electricity and to charge them it takes electricity, and emissions are produced in making electricity, this means the more we consume electricity the more pollution we produce. As internet data is essential to use mobile phones, only one hour of daily phone use results in an annual CO2 of 1.4 tonnes.
Because of consumer demand for electric devices, factories, and shipping terminals produce more pollution. If they use only sustainable methods and renewable resources then land is still needed for manufacturing. To make factories and industries, much land is cleared, and the animals from this region will lose their habitats and this is risky for them. Waste management is also a great example of a negative impact on sustainability. Destroying natural habitats is one of the most negative effects of technology on the environment.
