How to link your Aadhaar to Airtel mobile number

According to government rules, all telecom companies are required to verify their customers on the basis of their personal mobile numbers. This is because customers are receiving multiple SMS from their respective providers for linking their mobile numbers with Aadhaar.

Linking mobile number or sim number with aadhar online is not working as of now. Thus, you need to visit a retail store near your particular operator to link your mobile number with Aadhaar.

For customers with the Airtel network, this is a very simple method. If you are a postpaid customer then all you need to do is visit the nearest airtel store. If you have a prepaid connection, the mobile-Aadhaar verification can be done at the nearest retail store only.

Don’t forget to carry a copy of your Aadhar card/number and your mobile. You will need to complete your biometric verification at the store. After which you will receive a verification code on your registered mobile number in the form of One Time Password (OTP) which will be required to complete the process.

The information available on Airtel’s official website states that “If you do not complete the mobile verification process within the time limit, the services on your Airtel mobile number will be disconnected as per the directive of the Government of India.”

Initially, the deadline was February 6, 2018, which has now been extended to March 31, 2018.
The telecom operator is also conducting camps at various places across the country where you can verify your mobile number.

So, if you are among those who have not applied for Aadhar card registration, you can register on the UIDAI website –
