Garena Free Fire is an online-only action-adventure battle royale game played from a third-person perspective.
The game involves 50 players falling from a parachute onto an island in search of weapons and equipment to kill other players. Players are free to choose their starting position, pick up weapons, and supplies to extend their combat life.
When players join the game, they will enter a plane that will fly over the island. When the plane is flying over the island, players can jump wherever they want, thus allowing them to choose a strategic location to land away from enemies. After landing, players must go in search of weapons and useful items. Medical equipment, medium and large weapons, grenades, and other featured items can be found throughout the island.
The ultimate goal of players is to survive online with a maximum of 50-51 players on the island; This will require eliminating all opponents that stand in the way of the players and making sure that they are the only players left. The available safe area of the game map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into hard-to-reach areas for compelling encounters.
The last player or team standing wins the round. The game received a major update on Monday, December 7, 2020, which brought changes to the training ground and introduced some updated guns. The game received the next major patch update on April 14, 2021, which introduced a new map Bermuda Remastered permanently and a new in-game weapon cord in this update.
