Ananya Panday (born 30 October 1998) is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. The daughter of actor Chunky Pandey, she forayed into acting in 2019 with leading roles in the film Student of the Year 2 and the comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.

Pandey was born on 30 October 1998. His father is actor Chunky Pandey. He graduated from Dhirubhai Ambani International School in 2017. She attended Vanity Fair’s Le Bal des Debutants event in Paris in 2017.

Pandey made her acting debut in 2019 with the teen film Student of the Year 2 opposite Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria, which was produced by Dharma Productions. Writing for Scroll.in, Nandini Ramnath felt that Pandey showed potential in an impeccable film. The film underperformed at the box office.
Pandey next starred in Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), a remake of the 1978 film of the same name, alongside Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. He played a secretary who has an affair with a married man, portrayed by Ranjeeta Kaur in the original. Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV found her “perfectly cast as a girl with big eyes”, but Jyoti Kanyal of India Today. It emerged as a commercial success, earning ₹1.15 billion (US$16 million) worldwide. Pandey won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her performance in Student of the Year 2.
Pandey appeared in the 2020 action film Khaali Peeli co-starring Ishaan Khatter. She is set to appear in Shakun Batra’s 2021 yet untitled romantic drama alongside Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She will also work with Vijay Deverakonda for Puri Jagannadh’s multilingual film Ligar.
In 2019, Pandey started an initiative called So Positive to create awareness about social media bullying, curb negativity and build a positive community. At the 2019 Economic Times Awards, the project was named Initiative of the Year.
